Official team members as well as alternates are eligible to participate in trial events. As with all of the regular National Tournament events, schools are limited to one set of competitors/team. So, for example, if an event lists a maximum of two competitors, then the participating school would be limited to two students eligible to compete in that event. In each division, given the number of trial events offered, a maximum of twelve different students (or a combination of a smaller number) would be eligible to compete in all of the five different trial events.
