About Shipping

All teams will be able to ship materials directly to Package Services on GW’s Foggy Bottom and Mount Vernon campuses in advance of the National Tournament. Packages shipped will be held for teams to pick-up at the Package Services locations, as noted below. Teams residing in the residence halls do not necessarily need to ship materials to the campus on which they are residing.

Please note that Package Services will not accept any Science Olympiad-related shipments in advance of Monday, May 19.

Addressing Protocol

In order to ensure the proper receipt of packages, it is essential to follow the exact addressing protocol noted below:

Package Receipt and Pick-up

Upon receipt of packages, Package Services will notify the Head Coach of the team via e-mail, using the e-mail address that was provided during the online team registration process. Packages may then be picked up at the following locations, noting that a driver’s license or other photo ID is required to pick-up packages. There is no fee to pick-up packages at the following locations:

Foggy Bottom Campus Package Services (Support Building-2025 F Street, NW, L-101):

• Tuesday, May 27 through Friday, May 30: 10am to 8pm (post office closes at 5pm)
• Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1: 8am to 6pm
• Monday, June 2 and Tuesday, June 3: 10am to 8pm (post office closes at 5pm)

Mount Vernon Campus Package Services (Ames Building, Lower Level-2100 Foxhall Road, NW):

• Tuesday, May 27 through Friday, May 30: 8am to 6pm
• Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1: 8am to 12pm
• Monday, June 2 and Tuesday, June 3: 8am to 6pm

Outgoing Package Shipping

Package Services will also offer outgoing package shipping for teams that wish to ship packages after the National Tournament, according to the hours noted above.  Services include meter postage, postage stamps, envelopes, USPS registered, certified, insured mail, delivery confirmation, signature confirmation, USPS priority, and Express shipping.  Please note that Package Services does not offer packaging material (boxes) for oversized items and only provides envelopes up to size 9x12.  Furthermore, please note that UPS shipping is only available at the Foggy Bottom Campus Package Services location.  Package Services is only able to accept cash for outgoing package shipping.
