Availability of Helium for Division B: Balloon Launch Glider

While helium will not be provided at the venue for Balloon Launch Glider, the Retail and Dining Venues list includes notation of a few stores where customer-provided balloons can be filled with helium for a nominal fee.

Venue Dimensions and Practice Flights


For Balloon Launch Glider and Wright Stuff, practice flights will not be allowed during the competition periods, only during the announced times noted above. Coaching is allowed during practice sessions. Once teams enter or are called into the marked-off event area to compete on Saturday, all coaching must cease. Minor trimming will be allowed prior to launch during teams assigned time block

Division C: Wright Stuff

Venue: Lerner Health and Wellness Center 4th Floor Gym view

Venue Dimensions: 100' x 114' with 28' height floor to ceiling; 23' height floor to                              lights/equipment
Flight Trimming (Practice Flights): Friday, May 30, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
                                                 Saturday, May 31, 6-8 a.m.

Division B: Balloon Launch Glider

Venue: Lerner Health and Wellness Center 3rd Floor Gym view

Venue Dimensions: 100' x 114' with 28' height floor to ceiling; 23' height floor to                              lights/equipment
Practice Flights: Friday, May 30, 12-4 p.m.
                        Saturday, May 31, 6-8 a.m. 

Division B: Airjectory (Trial Event) and Division C: Flying Bird (Trial Event)

Venue: Mount Vernon Campus Lloyd Gym view

Venue Dimensions: 100' x 60' with 30' height floor to ceiling; 20' height floor to                              lights/equipment

The Division B: Reach for the Stars event will *not* be held in a planetarium. Therefore, star charts will be used for this event.
